Bhaktapur

Bhaktapur, also known as Bhadgaon or Khwopa in the local Newar language, is a historic city located about 13 kilometers east of Kathmandu, Nepal. It is one of the three ancient royal cities of the Kathmandu Valley and is renowned for its well-preserved cultural heritage, traditional Newari architecture, and vibrant festivals.

At the heart of Bhaktapur lies Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is home to exquisite temples, palaces, and courtyards, such as the 55-Window Palace, Nyatapola Temple, and the Golden Gate. Known as the "City of Devotees," Bhaktapur is famous for its intricate wood carvings, pottery craftsmanship, and its signature dish, juju dhau (king curd).

The city's narrow, cobblestone streets, surrounded by centuries-old structures, offer a glimpse into Nepal's rich medieval history. Bhaktapur is a must-visit destination for those seeking a blend of culture, art, and history, all set against a backdrop of timeless charm.
