Muktinath called as Mukti Kshetra, place of Liberation is a sacred place for Hindus and Buddhist.

Being one of the eight, most sacred shrines as per Hindu religion, people across the world visit Muktinath. For Buddhist it’s sacred as Saint Rinpoche came here to meditate while his journey through Mustang.  It is at the foot of Thorang La pass of Mustang district. The trek to Muktinath starts from Jomson(2700m) along the bank of Kali Gandaki river. Kali Gandaki river has unique feature in itself, from having deepest gorge in the world and only site to find black stone which is called as Saligram.

The starting point of Muktinath trip starts from Pokhara heading towards Jomson, with a flight (30 minutes) or jeep ride. Jomson welcomes you with soaring peaks of Dhaulagiri and Nilgiri as a backdrop. The trail from Jomson follows Kali Gandaki River which forms the deepest ravine in the world. On one side lie, the Annapurna Mountain range and on the other side is Dhaulagiri.

The trek to Muktinath starts from Jomson (2700m) along the bank of Kali Gandaki river. Kali Gandaki river has unique feature in itself, from having deepest gorge in the world and only site to find black stone called as Saligram. Saligram is fossilized shell in various shapes believed to be iconic symbol of Lord Vishnu as per Hindu Tradition.
